Lexacom’s a big hit with the Midlands Medical Partnership

Birmingham’s largest group practice, the Midlands Medical Partnership, is improving efficiency and information sharing, thanks to Lexacom digital dictation’s secure cloud technology.

Since switching to Lexacom digital dictation, the ten practices in the group are now able to access dictations from any site, which not only allows doctors to share information securely but enables the secretaries to provide a more flexible support service.

Kaiser Lone, IT Coordinator for the Midlands Medical Partnership said: “As soon as a doctor has recorded a dictation, it’s available in the cloud. That’s particularly useful in a large group like ours.”

The recordings, which have been given a priority rating by the doctor, are immediately accessible by the secretaries, enabling them to type and send documents quickly and easily.

Kaiser said:

“One of the biggest benefits is that our secretaries are able to provide cover for each other between practices, without having to move resources around or send tapes between sites – it’s much more secure and means we can adapt to changing work pressures more easily.”

Lexacom also integrates with their new medical records’ system, SystmOne, which means doctors will be able to automatically retrieve the correct patient data and add files or notes to the dictation. Once typed and approved, the document is automatically filed in the patient’s notes.

The Partnership chose Lexacom because it provided the most cost effective digital dictation and workflow solution compared to other competitors. Lexacom has been installed alongside Olympus hardware, which works seamlessly with the digital dictation system.

“We’re delighted with Lexacom,”

said Kaiser.

“We’ve had positive feedback from secretaries and doctors. We’ve all noticed a big improvement since using Lexacom – it’s a much more efficient way to work.”
