“One of the biggest benefits is that our secretaries are able to provide cover for each other between practices, without having to move resources around or send tapes between sites – it’s much more secure and means we can adapt to changing work pressures more easily.”

Kaiser Lone, IT Coordinator

Being able to share information and resources between its practices has made a huge difference to the Midlands Medical Partnership, the largest group practice in Birmingham.

Thanks to Lexacom digital dictation’s secure cloud technology, the ten practices in the group are able to access dictations from any site, which not only allows doctors to share information but enables the secretaries to provide a more flexible support service.

“As soon as a doctor has recorded a dictation, it’s available in the cloud. That’s particularly useful in a large group like ours.

Lexacom also integrates with the Partnership’s new clinical system, SystmOne. This will allow doctors to automatically retrieve relevant patient data and add files, notes and other attachments to dictations. Once typed and approved, letters and other notes are automatically filed in the patient’s notes, providing an easily accessible, secure audit trail.

The Partnership chose Lexacom because it provided the most cost effective digital dictation and workflow solution compared to other competitors. Lexacom has been installed alongside Olympus hardware, which works seamlessly with the digital dictation system.

“We’re delighted with Lexacom,” said Kaiser. “We’ve had positive feedback from secretaries and doctors. We’ve all noticed a big improvement since using Lexacom – it’s a much more efficient way to work.”
