This page covers how to use the Jobs tab in the Lexacom mobile app. Workflow jobs can be created, reviewed, edited and progressed on mobile and on a PC. You can create a job on one and accesses it on another device with Lexacom installed.
Once you have installed and logged in to the app, you can access the Jobs tab from the icon at the bottom of the app or from tapping on your notifications or cards on the dashboard.
If this is your first time using the app, you may not have any jobs to review. To use the jobs (workflow) section of the app you will need to create your first job.
If you use Lexacom on your PC, any pending jobs will be visible on both devices.
Available workflows will differ from team to team and can be customised to suit your needs. Here are the most common options:
| Workflow Name | Description |
|---|---|
| EchoScribe to Self | Record a dictation > Send it to EchoScribe for processing > The job will return to your inbox with a full automated transcription |
| EchoScribe to Author | Record a dictation > Send it to EchoScribe for processing > The job will return to your inbox with a full automated transcription > You can review the job and have the option to send it on to you typing team for processing |
| EchoScribe to Secretary | Record a dictation > Send it to EchoScribe for processing > The job will then go to your typing team for them to review and process |
| Dictate & Transcribe | Record a dictation > Send it directly to your own typing team for manual transcription |
ⓘ All workflows can be customised to suit your needs. The options available for your team may differ. EchoScribe is the service that automates the transcription process, if you don’t have these options but would like to trial them, please contact our sales team. – find out more about EchoScribe Jobs.
EchoScribe jobs need to be greater than 10 seconds else they will fail to process as there is not enough context for an accurate transcription.

Different workflows may have different options and your team may have additional bespoke options. The ‘look-up media’ types* (e.g. Letter type and Specialty) will have a dropdown box to select from, the options in these lists can be customised by your Team Admin. Most workflows will include:
| Reference | This will be the job name, typically the name of the patient/client it relates to. |
| Priority | Select the priority of the job. This will determine how long until the job shows as overdue. (required) |
| Letter Type | *Look-up media: Select the letter type of the job |
| Specialty | *Look-up media: Select the specialty of the job |
| Attachments | Here you can attach other files to the Lexacom Job (e.g. pictures) |
| Word Document | On a PC this will launch your document editor within the Lexacom software. On mobile, this allows you to attach a text document which can be edited on a PC or opened on your phone if you have a suitable app. |
Once you have captured the dictation and the job details you wish to complete, you can send the job (if you have internet connection).
The Send button will be blue with a paper plane icon. It will be labelled as where the job is being sent to next. So, for jobs being sent on an EchoSribe workflow, this will will say ‘EchoScribe’.
If you do not have internet connect, you will not be able to send or save the job. However, in this case you can save the audio of your dictation to return to when you have signal. From there you can reload and send/save the job.
If you don’t have connection, you can save the dictation audio to return to when reconnected.
Once the job is sent, the app will return to you inbox.
Please allow time for jobs to be processed before appearing in your inbox.
