How to edit a dictation

When recording a dictation using the Lexacom mobile app, you can edit the recording by moving the slider to the relevant part of the audio (playing back as needed) and recording your changes.

There are different recording modes to choose from, you can toggle between these modes with the button to the right of the play/pause button.

The audio bar will show in different colour to indicate the mode you are in.

Icon Mode Bar Colour Function
Automatic Red/Green Will Truncate if you are within 10 seconds of the end of the audio, else it will insert further back.
Truncate Red Will delete all audio AFTER the current location and begin recording from there.
Insert Green Will add additional audio at the current location without deleting audio either side. (can be used to add audio to the start of the dictation.)
Overwrite Orange Will record over-the-top of the existing audio, replacing it in real-time. Like the record button on an old tape cassette machine.

Whichever mode you wish to use, keep pressing the icon until it displays the option you want.

Automatic mode is the default option.

When you are in the right location, click ‘Resume’ to start recording.
