South Yorks PMC 2022 – it’s good to be back!

The end of September saw Lexacom’s Head of Primary Care, Simon Brady, attend the South Yorks and Bassetlaw Practice Manager conference (aka South Yorks PMC 2022).

Held at the Crown Plaza in Sheffield, for the first time as a live event since the pandemic, Simon met existing Lexacom customers and a range of potential new ones as he showcased our medical speech recognition software, Lexacom Echo, and our market-leading digital dictation solution, Lexacom 3.

What did Lexacom find at the South Yorks PMC 2022?

Meeting delegates at the South Yorks PMC 2022 during the break-out sessions and lunchtime, Simon really enjoyed the face-to-face interaction that we’ve all been missing for the last few years.

As he said, it was great to hear and see people face to face rather than through a screen.

Simon congratulated the organisers, PMA, on a well-run and well-attended event, which in his view the practice managers really enjoyed and valued.

What topics did Lexacom cover at the South Yorks PMC 2022?

Practice Manager conferences such as the South Yorks PMC 2022 are always a great barometer of how the primary care community is ‘feeling’.

The issues of the burden on staff, the lingering impact of Covid, the coming winter, and how these all take up the time and energy of the practice managers and their staff were all evident and discussed.

As an element of a solution for these challenges, Simon discussed with both new and existing customers how Lexacom’s range of time-saving speech-powered products can support them.

He spoke to several about the benefits of Lexacom Scribe, our outsourced transcription service. Which users are finding of even greater value as they are challenged in recruiting qualified medical secretarial staff to produce clinicians’ letters, reports, and other documents.

Our medical speech recognition software Lexacom Echo, with its time-saving capabilities, was discussed with many practice managers.

Many have been Lexacom 3 digital dictation customers for a long time, and are now looking to add to their speech-driven capabilities with Lexacom Echo.

Others are already Lexacom Echo customers. In one case, a practice group had undergone changes in the arrangement and management of the group, and they were looking to expand the use of Lexacom Echo into those practices which currently don’t use it. Including in some practices where they are using a “less effective” competitor product – which is always nice to hear.
