If you use a Foot Switch to control playback and this is not working, there are some things you can check.
ⓘ If you cannot hear the dictation on a job, but can see the progress moving when you press on the play pedal, the problem may be with your playback device instead of the pedal.
If the device is new, check that this appears on our Supported Hardware List.
Check that the device is connected to the computer – it is easy for devices to become disconnected accidentally.
Some older devices have an adaptor to support different types of connection; if the device has an adaptor, check that this is firmly connected and has not come loose.
Unplug the device from the USB port, and reconnect the device.
If this does not work, and you have an alternative USB port available, try connecting the devices to this.
Lexacom should detect new devices automatically; it should not be necessary to restart Lexacom if you have reconnected the pedal, though If you have reconnected the device and this is still not working, exit and restart Lexacom and log back in again.
Check that the Foot pedal buttons are assigned to the correct actions in Lexacom through your Settings.
Note: Different devices may call assign different button names to different pedals. The usual arrangement is:

| Foot pedal play | Right pedal |
| Foot pedal rewind | Left pedal |
| Foot pedal forward | Centre pedal |
| Foot pedal top | Top or 2nd centre pedal |
If you have access to a different device (e.g. a colleague’s foot pedal), try connecting this to check if this works on your computer.
