Echo 26.2.4: More control, smarter editing, and new ways to work with your voice

Make the most of the latest update to Lexacom Echo
Your version of Echo will be updating to 26.2.4 this week, with a range of new features and enhancements to make your work even more powerful, flexible, and intuitive.
This update introduces five key new features, including text editing with your voice, a custom dictionary, intelligent summarisation, and a new way to control where your dictations appear. Alongside these features are many other enhancements throughout Echo, including improved text insertion and replacement.
If you also use Lexacom’s ambient AI scribe, there’s another exciting update in the final stages of testing – we will share more details soon.
Edit and format text with your voice
Echo now gives you even greater control over your documents and applications, without touching the keyboard. Our What can I say? guide has been fully updated, making it easy to discover every available voice command in each app. Search for commands, and browse the Echo category to see what’s available.
Use your voice to select text, replace words or phrases, and apply formatting, helping you edit documents hands free.
Just say: “What can I say?”
Place dictations where you want them with Set Anchor
The new Set Anchor feature allows you to fix your output to a window you choose, so everything you say appears there, even if that application is no longer visible on your screen.
If an application cannot accept text directly, Echo will open a new window and place text there. When you’re ready, simply say Transfer text to place your words where you want them.
Just say: “Set anchor”
Personalise Echo with your own dictionary
Echo can now adapt even more closely to your preferences. Using the new Custom Dictionary, you can choose and add words for Echo to recognise, helping with names, terminology, abbreviations, and specialist vocabulary.
You can also create automatic replacements, so whenever a particular word or phrase is recognised, Echo will replace it with your preferred wording automatically.
Instantly improve dictated text with Summarise that
If you’ve made a dictation but it doesn’t quite read the way you’d like, you can now say Summarise that, and Echo will intelligently rewrite the passage into a clearer, more polished version while preserving the meaning of what you’ve dictated.
Perhaps you would like it to be more concise – or perhaps you remembered a detail at the end so the events are now out of sequence. Summarise that makes sense of your words and presents them professionally.
And if you prefer your original text, just say Undo to restore it instantly.

See your words as you speak
The new Show words as you speak option lets you see your dictation appear live on screen as you talk.
You can choose both the size and position of the display, allowing you to place it wherever best to suit the way you work.
A simple idea, to makes it easy to monitor your dictation without interrupting your work.
