How to request additions to patient, medical and coding modes

Comprehension Engine® is controlled and customised by our Lexacom Team, but built on user requirements and feedback. We would love to hear your requests as we continue to improve the engine.

Comprehension Engine® can be used in three modes; “Patient”,  “Medical” or “Coding”.

Patient mode
Echo will automatically insert descriptive terminology next to medical terms to help inform patients.
e.g. Apyrexial becomes Apyrexial (did not have a raised temperature)

Medical mode
Echo will convert spoken or written phrases in to medical terms to help clinicians abbreviate.
e.g. Heart sounds were normal becomes HS I + II – 0

Coding mode
Echo will add snomed codes directly into SystmOne*.
e.g. Blood Pressure 120 over 80 will be coded as a blood pressure reading.

* Currently coding with Echo is only active in SystmOne, more clinical systems will be supported soon.

Please let us know via wishlist@lexacom.co.uk if you have any suggestions of medical terms or missing codes for Comprehension Engine® to transcribe which would help you, or your patients. This also includes team-specific request such as local place names or colleague names that aren’t the standard spelling.
