How do I enable proofreading with Comprehension Engine®?

Echo can proofread transcription with Comprehension Engine® to correct basic grammar and punctuation errors. If enabled, Comprehension Engine® will proofread the transcription before this is returned.

• If you dictate including punctuation, Comprehension Engine® will fix missing or incorrect punctuation
• If you dictate without punctuation, Comprehension Engine® will punctuate your transcription, adding punctuation as necessary
• Comprehension Engine® will correct basic errors in grammar and sentence structure

By default, proofreading with Comprehension Engine® is enabled for all users. We do NOT recommend switching this setting off.

ⓘ  If you have upgraded from using Echo 2 you will find that this setting is enabled for you by default. If you prefer, these instructions tell you how to return this to the original Echo 2 behaviour.

If you prefer, you can disable proofreading and have your transcription returned verbatim.

⚠️  With Comprehension Engine® proofreading disabled you will need to explicitly dictate your punctuation (e.g. “Today I saw Jane Smith full stop Jane attended…”

To set your preference:

• Go to the Menu > Settings
• Select Echo
  
• Toggle Use Comprehension Engine® to proofread my transcriptions setting on if you wish to use Comprehension Engine® proofreading
  
• Toggle Use Comprehension Engine® to proofread my transcriptions setting off if you do not wish to use proofreading
• Click Save
