Lexacom sponsors London Legal Support Trust’s Dazzling Decade Celebration

Glitter balls at the ready! Legal help charity, the London Legal Support Trust, is preparing for a sparkling tenth anniversary party on 23rd October, sponsored by Lexacom Digital Dictation.

As ‘Strictly fever’ grips the nation once more, celebrations for the LLST’s Dazzling Decade are only a month away. Celebrity barrister and star of TV show “Judge Rinder”, Robert Rinder, will be joining the festivities alongside leading lawyers and judges amid the myriad of Trust supporters.

The party, taking place at the Royal College of Surgeons, is an important fundraiser for the charity, as well as providing an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of the last ten years. Since 1994, the LLST has raised over £4million and supported over 100 legal advice centres. Beginning with the now famous London Legal 10k Walk, the LLST now runs events all through the year including the ever popular sponsored runs and walks. This will be the fourth year running that the charity’s autumn event will be sponsored by leading digital dictation software company, Lexacom.

Bob Nightingale, Chief Executive of the LLST, said: “We are enormously grateful for the backing we have had from law firms and sponsors like Lexacom over the years. This has enabled us to bring free legal support to thousands of vulnerable people. We hope all our supporters will join us for our Dazzling Decade celebratory party and help us continue the important fundraising work we have become known for.”

In the run up to the event, nominations are encouraged for ‘Unsung Heroes’ of free legal advice. Their contributions will be recognised at the party, celebrating those people who are crucial to delivering essential free legal services but who are often in the background. The anniversary party will also feature inspiring stories from the free legal advice sector, and will recognise the amazing support and donations received by the LLST over the past ten years. Of course this is also an opportunity to look ahead to the future and ask for future support.

A long-term supporter of the LLST, Lexacom is increasingly being chosen by law firms looking to adopt efficient, reliable digital dictation technology which is both easy to use and cost effective. Dr Andrew Whiteley, Managing Director, Lexacom, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our support for the London Legal Support Trust.

The LLST provides a valuable service in promoting and providing access to free legal advice for those who need it, and we are proud to sponsor their 10th Anniversary Party.”

Tickets to the event are expected to sell quickly and cost just £50, to include food, live band and disco, as well as games and competitions. To book tickets or find out more, visit www.londonlegalsupporttrust.org.uk or call Natalia Rymaszewska 020 7092 3972.

About the LLST

The London Legal Support Trust works to support law centres and legal advice agencies in London and the South East by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support. This is done by holding large fundraising events, most notably the London Legal walk, and then delivering the funds raised to the agencies where they are most needed through grant rounds. The LLST offers its knowledge and experience of the sector to help the agencies to become more sustainable and help to partner them with law firms and chambers who want to help them ensure that the law is fair.

The LLST is part of a network of seven Legal Support Trusts across England and in Wales working with the Access to Justice Foundation to support pro bono and advice agencies, ensuring funds can be distributed where needed most throughout England and Wales.
