Lexacom signs NHS cyber security charter

Strengthening our commitment to protecting patient data

Lexacom has signed the cyber security charter for suppliers to the NHS, reinforcing our commitment to keeping systems, data and services secure across the health and care sector. The charter sets out clear expectations for suppliers working with the NHS, focusing on proactive protection, resilience and transparency. By signing, we publicly affirm that security is a core part of how we design, build, and deliver technology to support clinicians and patients, every day.

Built on standards the NHS can trust

The cyber security charter aligns with the NHS’s wider cyber security strategy (A cyber resilient health and adult social care system in England: cyber security strategy to 2030, Department of Health & Social Care), which encourages suppliers to meet recognised standards, and continuously improve their approach. This includes:

  • maintaining up to date systems
  • applying multi-factor authentication
  • continuous infrastructure monitoring
  • ensuring robust backup and recovery processes are in place

Practices and organisations using Lexacom can be confident that the technology they rely on is supported by strong and clearly defined security principles (Software code of practice, National Cyber Security Centre).

Supporting safe and resilient healthcare

Cyber security is a shared responsibility, and the NHS cyber security charter promotes collaboration between suppliers, the NHS, and wider partners. By signing, Lexacom commits to working openly and responsibly in the event of an incident, while continuing to invest in secure development and infrastructure. For our users, this means a platform that reduces administrative burdens while protecting sensitive information, and supporting the safe delivery of care.
