The team at Peeler House Surgery are familiar with using digital dictation, but until they switched to Lexacom 3, they hadn’t realised how inefficient their previous system had become. They only used this system once or twice a week and it involved using several unnecessary and cumbersome processes.

Sylvia Atkins, Practice Secretary explained that although their previous digital dictation system was working, they knew that there was definitely room for improvement.:

“The recharging issues and deleting of files was long winded and finding an ‘urgent’ dictation could prove to be time consuming. One of our GPs had heard about Lexacom 3 from an ex-colleague and the software came with high recommendations,” Sylvia Atkins.

Peeler House Surgery is relatively new to using Lexacom 3 but they have already seen what a difference it has made to their working lives: “We were delighted to find that Lexacom 3 integrated with our clinical provider SystmOne which enhances the safety of our patient data. It works extremely well; the typist is able to see whether the dictation is marked as urgent, soon or routine at a glance. On opening the dictated file, the patient profile automatically opens, making our administration so much more accurate, safe and secure.  The Olympus hand held recording mics work perfectly with the Lexacom 3 software making the whole process from dictation to transcription is seamless”.

This small practice consists of only two GPs and one secretary and using Lexacom 3 has proved that it is the perfect solution for the team. They can see how using the software makes a real difference to their working day.
