Flitwick Surgery says Lexacom switch was “simple and straightforward”

GPs and clerical staff at Flitwick Surgery in Bedfordshire have been amazed at how easy their switch to a Lexacom digital dictation platform has been.

The surgery waved goodbye to its previous analogue dictation system at the end of September after a free, month-long Lexacom trial gave them the necessary confidence to switch to a modern digital platform.

Nine GPs and three secretaries at Flitwick are now enjoying the significant workflow management improvements that Lexacom’s medical dictation software brings to a busy surgery.

Practice Manager, Sandy Hedges, said: “When I first mentioned the possibility of trialling the Lexacom at one of our practice meetings, the reaction I got from a couple of GPs that had used it at another surgery was extremely positive.

“The free trial went very smoothly and all of our users are now completely sold on the system and pleased with it. We haven’t had any problems with performance and the switch over has been very simple and straight forward.”

An increasing number of healthcare sites are currently making the switch to Lexacom’s digital dictation software and Mrs Hedges agreed that it’s been a positive step for Flitwick Surgery.

She said: “Surgeries are very busy and have lots to deal with at the moment, so it’s very easy to overlook a system change like this. But the support we had from Lexacom meant it was a very easy process and something that didn’t distract us from our other responsibilities.”
