How does Priority Media work?

Some workflows include Priority media. Priority media lets users know how important a job is.

Priority media allows the author of the job to assign a priority to the job from a list of available priorities.

Each priority has a name, an associated colour, and Warning and Deadline periods.

The Deadline period is the time in which a job of that priority should be completed – a job that is past its deadline period is overdue. Users can filter their review grid to show only these jobs.

The Warning period is the time in which a job of that priority shows as approaching its deadline. Users can filter their Review grids to show only these jobs.

e.g. A site might have two Priorities – Low and High. A job with Low priority might have a Deadline of 7 days, and a Warning time of 6 days. A job with a High priority might have a Deadline of 24 hours, and a Warning time of 12 hours.

When a job is progressed from its first workflow step, its Warning and Deadline times are set based on its priority and the current time. The job does not advance towards its Deadline until it is progressed from this step – the author may save the job at the first workflow step and work on this without it advancing to its Deadline.
