- LMC Buying Groups Federation sign Lexacom agreement
- “ We are delighted to have appointed Lexacom as our approved supplier of digital dictation software ”
The LMC Buying Groups Federation, which has more than 4,000 GP practices as members, has signed an agreement with Lexacom (www.lexacom.co.uk) to make the company their ‘approved supplier’ for digital dictation software. The Federation is made up of local medical committee buying groups from across England and Wales.
The LMC Buying Groups Federation recently assessed the performance of various software products that are currently available to general practices in the UK and Lexacom’s innovative software shone through during the tests thanks to its flexibility, detailed reporting engine and proven track record for delivering greater efficiency.
In a recent audit that directly compared the efficiency of a digital dictation platform to that of a tape-based system, Lexacom’s software was found to reduce the time it takes to process urgent patient information from 31 hours and 42 minutes down to 1 hour and 21 seconds. Also, when processing routine patient information, Lexacom reduced this time from 98 hours and 17 minutes down to 26 hours and 48 minutes.
Chief Negotiator for the LMC Buying Groups Federation, Chris Locke, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Lexacom as our approved supplier of digital dictation software as they offer a product which has been specifically designed by GPs for GPs. Their product optimises practice administrative efficiency and offers a valuable report writing function which can be tailored to assist GP commissioners by improving collection of referral data.”
