Lexacom takes its messages to MIP

Lexacom used yesterdays Management in Practice (MIP) exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham to meet new and existing customers and to dispel some of the myths that surround digital dictation technology.

Simon Brady, Lexacom's regional sales manager, headed up the Lexacom team at the one-day exhibition and he fielded lots of enquiries from primary care practice managers that were keen to learn more about how digital dictation software can improve the efficiency of their current workflow management systems.

The event, the third MIP exhibition that Lexacom has attended this year, was also useful because delegate feedback indicated that large chunks of the primary care sector still don't understand how affordable and accessible digital dictation technology is.

Brady said: "Events like this are invaluable to us because we put ourselves in front of the primary care practice managers and we're there to answer absolutely any questions they may have.

"On this occasion, it was surprising how many people came on to our stand assuming the technology was expensive, complicated and wrapped up in voice recognition technology that has a reputation for being troublesome and not particularly user friendly."

"But once we'd spent just a few minutes setting the record straight and highlighting the precise cost saving benefits that can be enjoyed for what is essentially a minimum investment, these same people were kicking themselves and asking for a quotation or a free trial."

Lexacom has committed to a large programme of events to help drive home the benefits of digital dictation software in the modern GP practice or hospital. Details of the company's 2010 events calendar will be announced at the end of November.
